5/15/25 Prayer Intentions

We are in the fourth week of Easter. Today we remember St Isadore. Tuesday is the feast day of St Bernardine of Siena and  Wednesday, we celebrate St Christopher Magallanes and Companions, martyrs.

May all the angels and Saint Isadore, St Bernardine, St Christopher and companions, part of the Church Triumphant, pray for us and lead us closer to Jesus as we continue to celebrate his Resurrection, our redemption and God's Divine Mercy.

We lift up prayers for the newly elected Pope Leo XIV and his intentions along with those Pope Francis had intended for us to pray this May: For working conditions

Let us pray that through work, each person might find fulfillment, families might be sustained in dignity, and society might be humanized.

Thanksgiving

We are united in gratitude for favors received and answered prayers of intentions for which we have prayed. Thank you dear God, for always hearing and answering our prayers according to your Divine Will and in your perfect timing.

We are grateful for Jesus, our Good Shepherd, and for the continuity of leadership in our church through the Holy Spirit's inspiration as the Cardinals elected Pope Leo XIV as our new Holy Father. May he be supported by our prayers and lead many to holiness.

We are united in thanksgiving for the sacraments- visible signs of invisible realities- and the graces conferred though them, especially for all those in our parish who received First Holy Eucharist and Confirmation recently.

We share prayers of gratitude for the enthusiasm and faith of the youth and young adults of our parish and for those ministering to them, through the dedicated leadership of Cate Cioni and Emilia Cowell.

We share thanksgiving for the small groups in our parish that share faith, friendship and fellowship on a regular basis. May the relationships fostered in these groups be a foundational source of growth for our parish.

Forgiveness

We are sorry for the times when we choose to give into distractions, temptations and anxieties instead of sharing our vulnerabilities in trust with our caring Father who loves us more than we can imagine.

We ask forgiveness for times when we put our schedules and personal satisfaction before relationships.

We beg pardon and make reparation for the times when we and others may put profit, power, honor or comfort above the needs of others.

We are sorry for the times we've acted out of ignorance, pain or fear, please bring us healing and growth.

Special Intentions

We join in prayers for the St Vincent de Paul team on rotation this week, may they be guided by the Holy Spirit and the love of neighbor in their visits to people in need.

We pray for peace. We lift up a fervent prayer that all may hear and follow the guidance of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to lead us toward peace in our world, peace in our families and peace in our hearts.

We join in prayer for those with earthly power, that they may be servant leaders, following the Holy Spirit's guidance in wisdom, mercy, and justice.

We lift up prayers for safety for al those traveling. May they be guided and protected by their guardian angels.

We pray for the intentions held in the hearts of mothers for their natural and spiritual children, including Our Blessed Mama Mary's intentions.

We share prayers for those graduating and in transition points in life, that they are able to remember the past with gratitude and have trust and hope for the future.

We lift up all men near and dear to us, that they may have the support of strong friends with which to share the ups and downs of life.

We join in prayers for the soul of a middle aged man named Anthony who tragically took his life this past weekend, and for his friend Roseann, who mourns his loss and is also dealing with multiple life issues. May God's mercy and peace be theirs.

We share prayers, through the intercession of St John Baptiste Scalabrini, for migrants, immigrants and refugees.

We pray for the special intentions held in the hearts of each of our parishioners and friends.

Healing

We pray, through the intercession of St Peregrine, Saint Leopold Maria Mandich and St Agatha, for those with cancer diagnoses, undergoing testing and in treatment, throughout their challenges and while living their recovery.

We continue to lift up all those that have been on our cancer list and are continuing their journey to healing.

May all patients and their families have a spirit of fortitude, trust, peace, hope and, if it be the Lord's will, bestow miraculous healings! Above all, may they know that they are never alone in their struggles.

Through the intercession of St Dymphna, St John of God and St Benedict Joseph Labre, we lift up those in with mental and emotional health issues, including anxiety and depression, and seeking to be free from addictions. We also lift up their psychiatrists and professionals who work with them.

We pray for Annette experiencing challenging eye issues along with injuries and pain from a recent fall, may she have comfort and healing.

We share prayers for John Dewey and his medical team as they determine course of treatment. May they find the best plan and may it be successful

We lift up prayers for Sophia, a one year old, who was found drowning in a pool and is on life support but slowly making health improvements. May she have a miraculous recovery.

We pray for John, Dad of a newborn, who has serious health issues and for his concerned family that he may have healing and all may have peace and that God's glory may be revealed in this challenging time.

We share in special prayers for all in hospice and their families. May Steve, Tammy, Veronica, Bill Johnson, John Cooper, and Lee Pettingill have comfort, peace and loving care to surround them during this sacred time of transition. May St Joseph, patron of departing souls, be close to them.

Eternal Peace

We pray for the souls of those who will soon die and those who have passed to the Lord, especially

Paul Young whose funeral was last Monday

Romilda Bryden whose funeral will be Saturday, May 17 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima in Sudbury

and all the holy souls in Purgatory

May they be united with Christ in Heaven, and may their loved ones have peace and consolation.

Suggested Prayers and Suggestions:

O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all the faithful, look favorably on your servant Leo XIV, whom you have set at the head of your church as her shepherd; grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
